Process Monitoring, Control, and Support Applications

This area focuses on effective design, deployment, and maintenance of hardware and software platforms that support process monitoring, control and support for effective operations. Representative projects include:

• Addressing Alarm Flooding - evaluate the effectiveness of new operator interface concepts for improving operators’ ability to handle plant disturbances that generate alarm floods.
  
  
• User Interface Analysis - compare ASM-compliant operator interface to a traditional interface to understand the human performance improvement.
