This area focuses on all aspects of procedure use such as accessibility, accuracy, clarity, and policy compliance so that personnel can accomplish important tasks at an industrial site, particularly start-up and shut-down. Representative projects include:

  • Collaborative Procedure Authoring - investigate the types of communication and data exchange that occur between people who must collaborate on the design, development and maintenance of operating procedures.

  • Procedure Lifecycle Management - analysis of practices and strategies in procedure lifecycle management resulting in requirements and preliminary solution concepts for effectively managing both automated and manual procedures.
